Your Owner’s Manual
October 4, 2023
Have you ever thought, “Life would be so much easier if we had a manual to follow?” Have you ever looked for a “How to” book at your local bookstore? Or did a Google search for “How to (insert your desired topic)”? We look for these “guides” to learn, but also make our lives easier. Just think, someone else took the time to research, perfect, and develop the “How-to” we are seeking and all we need to do is purchase and follow for success.
We follow this model in many areas of our lives. Let’s take health, for example. We look for ways to lose weight, manage an illness or disease, or reduce stress. In many cases, we ignore the importance of our health until there is a problem. If we had that manual, could we have prevented these problems?
What if I told you that manual you have been looking for is right in front you? Within the pages of this book are many fundamentals for adequate health; physical, mental, and spiritual. This owner’s manual is the Bible, where God provided us with instruction to operate and maintain the human body through natural ways that God provided for us.
If you are looking for the “How-tos” and expertise to guide and simplify your life, who is a better expert than God! God is the creator of the human body and has provided all the necessary components for good health and shares these things with us throughout the Bible.
Ezekiel 47:12 reads – “And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.” This verse shows that God intended the trees to provide food and cures, and that the water is pure.
Based upon both scripture and science, this engaging book cites more than 500 Biblical references to 33 species of essential oils, presents their uses, and explains how they work to correct the roots of disease, supported by prayer and human touch.
The Bible cites more than 500 references to 33 species of essential oils, and the aromatic plants the oils came from. In the book, Healing Oils of the Bible, research is shared describing the use of essential oils in the bible, for healing and anointing. The bible also refers to the word “herb,” in 36 verses, “health” can be found in 17 verses, “disease” is mentioned in 34 verses, and “heal” is in 149 verses.
You can see God’s vision for us, to care for our body and live a healthy life, when reading the following verses. 3 John 2 – “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” Exodus 25-26 – “You shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and water, and I will take sickness away from among you. None shall miscarry or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.” John 10:10 – “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
In natural health, we look at the 9 foundations of health, which is also supported in the Bible, found in the following verses. Genesis 2:7 – “Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.” Job 33:4 – The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty give me life.” The importance of water can be found in Daniel 1:12-6, the benefits of prayer (before meals), mindful eating, and giving thanks are found in 1 Corinthians 10:31, Ecclesiastes 3:13, Matthew 14:19, and Luke 24-30.
Holistic Health focuses on a whole-body approach and the connection between the mind, body, and soul. The Bible supports the need for balance within these areas, which is found in the following verses. Philippians 4:5 – “Let your moderation be known unto all men.” Proverbs 14:29 – “He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who is quick-tempered exalts folly.”
Proverbs 15:18 – “A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but the slow to anger calms a dispute.” In Proverbs 12:27 – “Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.” One more about emotions, Titus 1:7 – “For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined.”
In 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, states how God works through healing practitioners, the importance of sharing wealth through healing and taking care of others. It reads, “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.”
As you take the next steps on your holistic journey, get out your “Owner’s Manual” and remember that as our creator, God knows what’s best for us: “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man” Ecclesiastes 12:13.
